The active participation in the master classes includes a singing session of about 30 minutes with the President of Accademia Belcanto Natela Nicoli. The masterclass takes place as part of a public master class in the Fux-Saal of the Conservatory. She will be accompanied at the piano by Polina Sasko. Here, the students have the opportunity to prove themselves in front of the audience and to take the finishing touches for the following public semifinals, in which the lecturer will also sit in the jury. All active participants of the masterclasses of the Accademia Belcanto Festival may take part in all masterclasses (Christa Ludwig, Eteri Lamoris, Angelika Kirchschlager, Giacomo Aragall) as passive listeners.

Natela Nicoli comes from a famous singing family and graduated in piano and singing with distinction. Since 1991 she has lived in Austria. At the opera house in Graz, she was engaged for several years and sang important parts such as: Octavian, Carmen, Cenerentola, Dorabella, Hansel, Maddalena, Rosina and Olga. For her interpretation of Bizets CARMEN, Natela Nicoli was awarded the Festival Opera Prize in Germany in 1994. Highlights of her international career were: DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and LES TROYENS at the Salzburg Festival; Rossini's STABATMATER under Fabio Luisi in the Vienna Music Association; LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and VERDI REQUIEM (staged) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (followed by a guest performance in Seoul / Korea). She sang CARMEN and DER EVANGELIMANN at the Volksoper Vienna. In 2007-2008 she was at SALOME in Milan (RAI-DVD recording) at the La Scala in Milan, as well as numerous appearances at the Wiener Musikverein, Munich Gasteig Philharmonie (Duet evening with Edita Gruberova and Live CD recording), Weimar, Stuttgart and Gewandhaus Leipzig ,
